Meet the adorable Miller boys, Scottie and Ryan, and their cousins, Kailey and Kiara. Our backdrop was beautiful, a private road, beautiful trees and the perfect light. Scottie and Ryan are so cute, their big brown eyes and those adorable smiles. It was really sweet to see the boys with their cousins, so sweet and loving. Amy and Ken you have two precious boys and I cannot wait to photograph them again. ~Michelle

I know I say this all the time about my children, my life and my clients, “Where does the time go?” Seriously, though, where does it go? It seems as if was just yesterday that I met Jaime for the 1st time, pregnant, sitting in our studio for her Hello Baby consultation or when I met Mason at his newborn session and now, here he is crawling, almost walking and becoming his own little person. Before I know it, I will be capturing him as a “Big 1 Year” old. I feel pretty lucky, being part of Mason’s first year, freezing these precious moments for Jaime and Justin. I just love watching my families grow. I photographed Stephanie and Ahman’s wedding about five years ago, I photographed Bryn’s (their precious little girl) newborn photos a few years ago, their twins, Caleb and Ethan’s newborn photos and family photos and now here we are again. I had so much fun today, Bryn, is simply adorable and such the big sister. Always helping mom and dad take care of the twins. Caleb and Ethan’s personalities are just precious and so different. It was crazy, their personalities have not changed a bit since they were newborns. At the newborn session one was fussy (cannot remember which one) and one was always happy. Still the same, except the fussy one wasn’t really fussy, just wanted mommy to hold him. You can tell in the photos as well below. Steph and Ahman, wow, how lucky are the two of you to have a house filled with all of this love. I truly enjoyed my time with all of you today and I am so grateful to be your family photographer. I am already excited to see you next year!~Michelle

Carlsbad Portrait Photographer | Noah Smashes The Cake

How cute is Noah?? Oh, my goodness, I just wanted to eat him up. A little over a month ago we we met at a park in Carlsbad for Noah’s 1st birthday so he could smash his cake. Noah was so funny, because at first he wasn’t quite sure about this “cake” thing. In fact, his mom Kerri, had to put a little taste in his mouth. It took him a few minutes, but once he got his hands into the gooey cake he was in heaven. I had so much fun today and Thank You to Greg, one of our newest Studio Z interns for helping me out today. Carlsbad Maternity Photography | Devon & Nnamdi Are Having A Baby

Bill and I were so excited when we found out that Devon and Nnamdi were pregnant, we adore them. When they called about shooting there maternity photos, we were over the moon. Devon, was definitely glowing and so very beautiful pregnant. We photographed their wedding in Malibu last summer 2010 and here we are now documenting the beginning of their family.

We started the session in our studio, then made our way to McGee Park in Carlsbad and ended with a beautiful Carlsbad sunset. We cannot wait to meet baby Ohaeri.~Michelle

Bailey’s Seven Month Photo Shoot

Uncle Bill shot Bailey’s 7 month photos a few weeks ago.

I CANNOT believe that little girl is already 7 months old. I swear I was just at the hospital visiting Mitch and Amanda when little Bailey was born.

Time flies! What I love most about my job is capturing a millisecond of time with my lens that can be looked at forever. Im going to blink, and she’ll be starting her first day of kindergarten.

The little cutie is getting more and more of a personality and its really starting to show through in the photos. I remember when we did our first photo session and she was just a sleeping little ball of blankets; now its all smiles, laughs and sort-of-talking in a baby language only her mother understands. – Bill

Meet James, Ashley and precious baby Levi. A few weeks ago I met the adorable Howle Family in Pacific Beach on Law Street. This was their first family portrait together and I was so excited to be the one to capture it. Levi was an angel for the session, a natural in front of the camera. Honestly, I do not think he fussed once. I love the way Ashley and James are looking at Levi in these photos, simply priceless. You can feel the love that they have for him. Pictures really do speak a thousand words. ~Michelle

I just love my clients and more than anything, I love when I photograph there wedding and then a few years later I am capturing the start of their new family. A couple of years ago, I photographed the Bain family when Curren was almost one and now we have Tavin. Abbe and Sean have the cutest little boys and I had so much fun capturing them today. I cannot wait for two years down the road when we get to meet again.~Michelle

I have just a little bit of history with The Van Dyke family. Which, really starts with my son, Taylor and his elementary & middle school best friend Alex Bayme. That is just the beginning too, because Bailey became friends with Emily Bayme (Alex’s little sister). They danced together, we carpooled and we carpooled, back & forth and back & forth. Jen (A.K.A. Jennifer) is Alex and Emily’s older sister. I had met Jen and talked to her occasionally, but I never really got to know her. I remember her standing at the door watching her little sister, Emily run to my car for dance. I can remember Janine, (Jen,Alex’s & Emily’s mom) always talking about Jen and “Phillip”. I remember ODA, when we had our competition’s in Los Angeles and Jen would be there to support her baby sister, so proud and such a huge smile. A very proud big sister…..

Here we are now, just a few years later, Jennifer Bayme, married to the love of her life; Phillip, only to welcome baby Flynn. I arrived to the beautiful Bayme house on a Saturday morning and it was just like when my kids were young. Everyone, running around with Janine taking care of everything. The only difference was, Alex was running out to go get a burrito with friends and Emily was, well, Emily (the baby) was all grown-up. Just a Junior in high school, but, please, someone tell me, where does the time go? That being said, I was so honored to be asked to photograph Jen’s firstborn. It meant so much to me to be able to capture Flynn as a newborn, so tiny and just so precious. To be able to snatch these cherished minutes, through my vision and my passion.

I will forever hold in my mind the way that Phillip looks at Jen, with such adoration, respect, and so very grateful for what he has at this moment. Embracing life….

Janine walked me to my car and I turned to her an said, “You are a lucky mom. I saw the way Phillip looks at Jen, he truly loves her. It must feel good to know that “your baby” is loved like that.” As a parent, in the end, that is all you can ask for.

Jen and Phillip, Flynn is precious. Soak up every lasting moment, even the ones at 2:30 a.m. for those do not last forever.

Thank you so very much for giving me this opportunity to capture this most precious time of your life. Never, take any moment for granted.~Michelle
