Luckily enough, when you have a few connections, it sometimes falls in your lap and you’re able to shoot a beautiful family at the Cal-a-Vie resort and spa.

We first photographed here back in July for a wedding that we were so stoked to have gotten! Now we have the opportunity to photograph here again! I love my job!

I have known Heather since birth and our families have remained good friends over the years. In 2008, Michelle and I even photographed her wedding in New Jersey.

So I was in Washington D.C. for my sister’s wedding, Heather had contacted me to see if I could do some quick head shots of her while we were all in the are visiting.

I scouted locations the day before and came across Turkey Run Park right off the George Washington Memorial Parkway along the Potomac River. Fall was in FULL effect and created the PERFECT backdrop for photos.

After utilizing the park, we headed to downtown D.C. for some different “urban” looks. We found an awesome alley way with great light and got some killer shots. -Bill

Meet the adorable Miller boys, Scottie and Ryan, and their cousins, Kailey and Kiara. Our backdrop was beautiful, a private road, beautiful trees and the perfect light. Scottie and Ryan are so cute, their big brown eyes and those adorable smiles. It was really sweet to see the boys with their cousins, so sweet and loving. Amy and Ken you have two precious boys and I cannot wait to photograph them again. ~Michelle

I know I say this all the time about my children, my life and my clients, “Where does the time go?” Seriously, though, where does it go? It seems as if was just yesterday that I met Jaime for the 1st time, pregnant, sitting in our studio for her Hello Baby consultation or when I met Mason at his newborn session and now, here he is crawling, almost walking and becoming his own little person. Before I know it, I will be capturing him as a “Big 1 Year” old. I feel pretty lucky, being part of Mason’s first year, freezing these precious moments for Jaime and Justin. I was excited to do this shoot when I was contacted by their mom, informing me that her youngest had just completed boot camp. She wanted to do a photo shoot with all of her sons, before they were deployed and scattered across the country (and globe).

What better backdrop than the beautiful Balboa Park here in San Diego. Half the shoot was in the boys dress blues before changing to their “street clothes” (as they put it) for some more casual ones.

You only have to ask a US Marine to do something once. When we were shooting, I would say something like “move 6 inches to your left” or “lean forward on the railing”. They were so on point and snapped right into position and made the shoot so easy.

I truly honor the courage and bravery it takes to be a US Marine. It is definitely something that I myself could never achieve. Its humbling that someone half my age, only 17 years old will soon be over seas. What was I doing when I was 17? What were you? – Bill
