It’s hard to believe baby Mason is now one, it’s seems as if it was just yesterday that I was photographing his mommy for his maternity session. Now here he is, exploring the wonders of the world. I love photographing this age, they are just so curious and carefree. Their cute little feet wondering around and the endless smiles on there face. What a wonderful first year for Mason, it was so great getting to know you, I look forward to watching you grow. ~Z

Four years ago I had the opportunity to meet Brooke and Shane, first over the phone and then, officially at their engagement session at the gorgeous Orfilia Winery. Brooke and I instantly connected, I automatically fell in love with her zest for life. Brooke and Shane’s wedding day, back in October 2009 at Maderas Golf Club, I felt more like a good friend, than their photographer. Almost two years ago, I got the phone call to capture Brooke’s pregnancy and I felt like family. I LOVE The Tormey’s and here I am now capturing them with their precious little girl, Avery. I look forward to watching The Tormey family grow. ~Michelle

Meet the ever so adorable Stockham family, Jeremy,Rachel and Lauren. Your perfect example of a Southern California family, especially the girls with their beach blonde hair and stunning blue eyes. I spent the afternoon on the coast in Carlsbad, on a gorgeous sunny day, capturing these most precious moments. Rachel, was dyeing because she had to wear a dress (she is the tomboy in the family) and kept asking her dad when she could change into her shorts. Lauren, the future model, just ate the camera up, this girl, is 100% comfortable in front of the camera. I will not be surprised if, in the future, she will be modeling. This afternoon was so much fun with the three of you. Jeremy, you are a lucky guy to have two precious little girls. ~Michelle

I just love it when my couples come back to me when their family starts to grow. I photographed Kristi and Mike’s wedding on November 11, 2009 at The Crossing in Carlsbad, such a beautiful day. Needless to say I was thrilled when Kristi contacted me about 6 months ago wanting me photograph her maternity session and her baby girls first year. Baby Madison is due towards the end of April and I cannot wait to meet her. I met Kristi and Mike in Rancho Santa Fe at The Old Town Hall to capture this most precious time in their lives. Andrea + Adam | Carlsbad Engagement Session | A Little Shout Out to Greg Jackson

I would like to send out a little shout out to Greg Jackson, one of our interns. He assisted me today with Andrea and Adam’s session. When our interns come assist me, they carry my bag, my extra camera, change lens’s, control the reflector and they also shoot when they have the opportunity. Carlsbad Wedding Photographer | Andrea + Adam | A Little Bit of Urban & A Little Bit of Surf and Sand

I am not even sure where to start with my post, you see, I have a lot to say about Andrea and Adam, that it is almost overwhelming to write about my afternoon with them. Andrea’s energy is completely contagious; her spirit, her smile and her laughter; no wonder Adam is in love with her. Adam’s personality, drive, and 100%, complete patience with the whole engagement session speaks volumes. After spending the afternoon cruising around downtown Carlsbad, stopping off at McGee Park and the ending our session at the beach with the most amazing light and beautiful sunset, I was definitely, wow’d by Andrea and Adam’s love for one another and even better, their friendship. Does it get any better than that? Andrea and Adam, as I was editing your engagement session, I couldn’t help but, have a continuos smile on my face, the two of you are simply adorable together. ~Michelle

San Diego High School Seniors Photographer | Anthony’s Senior Session | Class Of 2012 Vista High School

Last week my cousin Anthony came by the studio so we could do a quick senior session. We did a little bit of studio and then we headed outside to catch that amazing golden hour capture him, ahhh, my favorite light. Anthony will be graduating this coming June for Vista High School, the Class of 2012. Such an exciting time for him, as the college letters come in and he embraces these last few months of his senior year. Congratulations Anthony! Love, Michelle

Back in November when the kids and I were up Santa Cruz for Thanksgiving I decided to photograph Taylor and Bailey. My boyfriend lives in a great neighborhood that is minutes from the beach, with beautiful trees and amazing light. The kids and I ventured out one afternoon and we did a little photo shoot for our 2011 holiday cards.~Michelle

Cal-a-Vie…a Hidden Gem for Family Photos

Don’t even think about trying to photograph here….it’s as private and secluded as you can get.

Luckily enough, when you have a few connections, it sometimes falls in your lap and you’re able to shoot a beautiful family at the Cal-a-Vie resort and spa.

We first photographed here back in July for a wedding that we were so stoked to have gotten! Now we have the opportunity to photograph here again! I love my job!
