Luckily enough, when you have a few connections, it sometimes falls in your lap and you’re able to shoot a beautiful family at the Cal-a-Vie resort and spa.

We first photographed here back in July for a wedding that we were so stoked to have gotten! Now we have the opportunity to photograph here again! I love my job!

Meet the adorable Miller boys, Scottie and Ryan, and their cousins, Kailey and Kiara. Our backdrop was beautiful, a private road, beautiful trees and the perfect light. Scottie and Ryan are so cute, their big brown eyes and those adorable smiles. It was really sweet to see the boys with their cousins, so sweet and loving. Amy and Ken you have two precious boys and I cannot wait to photograph them again. ~Michelle

We love watching our brides and grooms families grow, and now Mary and Blake have a beautiful family!!!

This photo shoot was in one of our favorite places to shoot…our own backyard in downtown Carlsbad. We strolled around the streets, utilizing our familiar spots in town and finally finishing at the beach. We got some great images and had a great time catching up on the past few years. Congrats Mary and Blake, it was great meeting your little ones!!! – Bill

I photographed Stephanie and Ahman’s wedding about five years ago, I photographed Bryn’s (their precious little girl) newborn photos a few years ago, their twins, Caleb and Ethan’s newborn photos and family photos and now here we are again. I had so much fun today, Bryn, is simply adorable and such the big sister. Always helping mom and dad take care of the twins. Caleb and Ethan’s personalities are just precious and so different. It was crazy, their personalities have not changed a bit since they were newborns. At the newborn session one was fussy (cannot remember which one) and one was always happy. Still the same, except the fussy one wasn’t really fussy, just wanted mommy to hold him. You can tell in the photos as well below. Steph and Ahman, wow, how lucky are the two of you to have a house filled with all of this love. I truly enjoyed my time with all of you today and I am so grateful to be your family photographer. I am already excited to see you next year!~Michelle

Years back, Michelle and I photographed Debby and Kevin’s wedding in the beautiful San Diego Zoo. We’ve kept in touch over the past 3 years and heard of the new additions to their family while they were living on the east coast.

On the Sharp’s last visit to San Diego in October of 2011, they contacted us for a family photo shoot to capture their little ones before they get too grown up and “too cool” for the family photo sessions. We met in Balboa park and walked throughout all the wonderful settings the place has to offer.

The little ones were so full of energy, so I just let them go and do their thing while I got some great candids of them playing. They finally settled down over time and with some bribes of candy for some group formals of the beautiful family.

I love watching a family grow and its so special to be their “go-to” photographer even after all these years.

Congrats on the wonderful family you have created Debby and Kevin. We look forward to our next encounter! – Bill
