I met Lorraine at the Powerhouse in Del Mar for an extended family shoot. Lorraine and her husband, their three daughters, the daughters husbands and their children. It was a handful, but we managed to get some great shots on an overcast day. Lots of people get discouraged when there isn’t bright sun and blue skies, but in actuality, overcast creates a softer light and its actually much easier to photograph in.
So we walked around the park and the beach for an hour or so, photographing the whole family, individual families and groups within the families; we covered it all! 6 kids are definitely a challenge to photograph, but in the end, I pulled it off.
Lorraine’s family is very sweet and loving. Also, I clicked immediately with the native New Yorkers. I think my accent came out a little towards the end of the shoot when I asked a jogger what kind of “dawg” he had.
