Need to catch up? Click here for Day 1 and Day 2
Day 3, the final day, of the Discovery workshop was jammed pack! We started the morning with Me Ra and Brian‘s talk on Photo Coaching. I’ve heard this talk before, but I could hear it over and over again. Me Ra and Brian are hilarious together. I had so much fun the whole weekend watching their interactions. Brian is adorable! He’s just sweet, witty and funny. He has this boyish charm that is irresistible! Me Ra is just pure light! When you are around her, you just want to soak her up.. she’s got this amazing heart and it so evident in every thing she does.
After the photo coaching, we attended break out session focus groups. Laura and Matt Reoch joined us and each taught a session. I really wish I could have attended all of the sessions, but we could only pick two! Matt works with Garrett Burdick (one of our instructors) and Laura is a photographer and graphic designer. Laura specializes in album design and I really like her style aesthetic. I attended Me Ra’s session on marketing and branding. There were only 4 other people in our group, and none of them had a website or blog set up.. so get this.. Me Ra spent the whole time looking at my blog and website giving me her feedback!! That was so invaluable! How lucky am I (and Studio Z)?!? Then I attended a lighting session with Garrett, Jason, and Brian. I learned some new flash tricks and had fun watching Brian run around!

After lunch, Garrett had arranged for families and couples to be our portrait subjects! We were split into groups of 4 and I was grouped with Elizabeth Knox, Teri Lee and Kate James.
We photographed a family of 4 first.. they were alot of fun and the kids.. sooo cute! I loved how both kids kept sticking out their tongues..must be genetic

~ mom and her baby girl ~ I love to capture the legs around mom's hip.. it such a moment in time!

After we photographed the family, we were then sent to photograph a couple. Mercedes and Eric were awesome! I love my photos that I got of them! We used Me Ra’s photo coaching techniques in a lot of these shots.

of course.. in this picturesque gorgeous place, I find the rusty utlity shed that I just HAVE to use!![]()

can you say awesome? I think they must be models and just didn't tell us!

We then gathered to share our experience with the photo shoots and wrap up the workshop. It was really hard to say goodbye to everyone, I didn’t want it to end. Thank you Me Ra, Brian, Rick, Leslie, Garrett, Matt, Laura, and Jason for an amazing workshop that has forever changed my life! And thank you to all the wonderful women I met, I hope we stay in touch and our paths cross again. ~ Annie
